The Cobb County Public Library Foundation was incorporated in 2003 as a fund raising body for the Cobb County Public Library System.  The Foundation is a Non-Profit 501c3 corporation governed by a Board of Directors.  Its purpose is to plan and implement fundraising for the Library System.  Funds raised will supplement, not take the place of, funds from traditional sources.

2008 Spring Author Event with Food Network Star ALTON BROWN  was as held March 29th.  The event surpassed all previous events and was a sold out, complete success.  The event raised $41,582 through ticket sales and sponsor donations. Funds raised will be used to provide a portable computer lab for the Library System.

*** "SATURDAY’S COBB LIBRARY FOUNDATION lecture featuring TV chef Alton Brown, star of “Good Eats” on the Food Network, was a smash. The event was conducted at the Walker School, where Library Board Chair Don Robertson is headmaster, and netted the nonprofit Foundation about $40,000, said executive director Donna Espy on Monday." ***    - Marietta Daily Journal, 4/1/2008

Flyer	Vince Dooley - September 22nd The Cobb Library Foundation will host former University of Georgia head football coach Vince Dooley for our next “Meet the Author” luncheon series!  Proceeds from the luncheon are designated to fund the Gail Rogers Honorary Scholarship awarded each year for a deserving Masters of Library Science student employed by the Cobb County Public Library System.  The "Meet the Author Luncheon" series is hosted by The Georgian Club for the Foundation.  Tickets may be purchased online through the secure link listed below.
Flyer	Mary Kay Andrews - November 10th Meet the bestselling author of SAVANNAH BREEZE and BLUE CHRISTMAS.  Mary Kay Andrews is also the author of the Callahan Garrity mystery series written under her "real" name of KATHY HOGAN TROCHECK.   The "Meet the Author Luncheon" series is hosted by The Georgian Club for the Foundation.  Tickets may be purchased online through the secure link listed below.

Attend:  You can support the Cobb Library Foundation by attending our Annual Spring Author Event. The featured author and location of the 2009 Spring Event will be announced this fall.

Scholarship Contributions:  Contribute to the Gail Rogers Honorary Scholarship Fund or attend one of the quarterly "Meet the Author" luncheons.  The Scholarship is awarded annually at the Spring Author Event to a deserving Library System employee.
