Mt. View Regional Library is closing September 1, 2008 for renovation.  For your convenience, the library is moving circulation services to temporary quarters in the parking lot. 

Books and other materials may be ordered, picked up and dropped off here.  No other library services, such as public computers, newspapers and magazines, programming, test proctoring, or meeting rooms, will be available at this location
 until January 2009.

Please pardon the inconvenience as we expand and renovate.  Some services may be curtailed or suspended during phases of construction.  Basic services such as pick-up of reserves and material returns will be available at all times.

§         Book Drops - The Sandy Plains Road entrance will once again be open.  Parking will be available on the lower right side of the parking lot.   Book drops will be available on the lower right part of the parking lot.  (8/18/08)

§        ADA Access:    Please call 770/509-2725 to discuss access requirements before traveling to the library.   Staff will describe the accommodations available at the modular unit to determine if they fully meet your needs. (8/18/08)

 §         Sunday Hours will temporarily move to Merchants Walk April 6 through completion of the project in January  (4/1/08)

 §       Services and Materials  The Mountain View Regional Adult, Children’s and YA collections will be in storage.  Circulating materials from other libraries may be transferred to the Mt. View Regional pick-up site upon request for your convenience .*   Reserve them in your name using our online catalog (www.cobbcat.org) or by calling any Cobb County Public Library.( 8/18/08)

Suspended Services
-September 2008 – January 2009

§         Multipurpose room will not be available due to re-use of the space. The Gritters, Merchant’s Walk, and 9 other libraries in the Cobb County Public Library System have multipurpose rooms for public use.  (4/1/08)

§         Children’s Programming will not be held at Mountain View  for the remainder of the year due to lack of space.  Extra programs are schedule at Gritters and the Merchants Walk Branches to help accommodate Mt. View Regional Library users. (link to COBB KIDS children’s page)  (4/1/08)

Project Benefits

The 4,000 square foot expansion project will add:

•      Additional space in the Children’s wing for seating, book stacks to house more materials
       and a larger program room to accommodate more children

•      3 new study rooms

•      Teen space for materials and study

•      Space for additional computer workstations

 The renovation project will:

•          Upgrade HVAC and fire alarm systems

•          Replace the roof

•          Upgrade all restrooms

•          Paint and carpet the entire interior

•          Refurbish the interior and exterior as needed

 The parking lot project will provide for:

•          62 new parking spaces

•          Improved lighting

•         A deceleration lane on Sandy Plains Road
